Here we are again at this section of the site where we get download free apps onto our phones, go through the ordeal (or the fun) of playing a game, and letting you guys know what it is about. We will be reviewing Lunar Racer for this entry, one of many free games available in the iTunes store. Let us now start with a brief description of it:

This game is as simple as it gets. Just follow the very simple instructions and you will not go wrong. At the startup screen, one can choose "Single Player", "Multiplayer", "Garage", or visit the "Game Center". If you are playing for the first time, you will be called a "Rookie" and the screen gives you the option to train for the controls.
Touch the left side of the screen to activate "Gravity Assist", which pulls your vehicle back down to the surface. Touch the right side of the screen to activate "Nitro Booster", which gives your vehicle a speed boost, and consumes nitro during the process. Tilt your device to rotate the vehicle you are using. Performing flips so you will be able to refill your nitro tank, but be sure to always land on your wheels or your vehicle will get into an accident.
As with other games, power-ups can be collected to help beat opponents. Lunar Racer has Nitro Boost, Space Mine, Missile, Super Missile, and Bubble Shield. Every one of them functions depending on your need. Completing 3 goals with Basic Training earns you a Lunar License!
It is pretty common to complete goals, especially if you choose single player. As you get through that, you can choose other moons to race on. It might take awhile to get used to the controls, which is what made me find it just a bit at the level of being average amusing. Later into the game, the repetitiveness of the race was not satisfying enough to make me pursue the other goals and race onto other moons. My rating would be 2.5/5.
